We are now "limped" into Fort Pierce on the South East Coast north of Fort Launderdale. The RV needs to have major repairs tomorrow to do with steering and wheel alignment. Nothing a vehicle of its age would not normally have to go through but a blow all the same. Staying at Treasure Coast RV Park ($39) and has hot tub, swimming pool, internet, cable tv.....thats what you pay for. And its bingo tonight!!
Previously at Blue Springs State Park ($20), which was in middle of woodlands and natural hot spings which attract manatees. Amazing, it was so clear you could see them so well in the spirngsand the other fish. Then we went to Lake Kissammee ($22) State Park and a campsite right in the sticks. We have bought bikes so had a hard off road ride to the banks of the lake. Enjoying the vastness of the country and you can be on your own if you wander away from the campsites. The weather has improved and had our first campfire.

ST Augustine (13 Dec) FL
Gosh its cold! Last night the water pipes froze connected to the RV. We were freezing in the night and it is extremely cold today, freak weather apparantly and will be back to 20C by Friday. We have moved to Anastasia State Park in St Augustine town, its the oldest town in USA and very quaint. Old colonial Spanish with cobbly streets. We walked into town yesterday and now realise that when American says its not far they are not be trusted, we walked miles in the freezing cold so had to find the nearest brew pub to warm up and then went to St Augustine winery for a tasting, it was actually disgusting wine so if you come across it please avoid it.
More brief sightseeing and then we are heading South today to the Daytone Beach area.

St Augustine (11 - 12 Dec 10)
We have our Winnebago!! Its an Itasca Sundancer and is called “Thelma&Louise” due to
the taxi driver at Heathrow airport saying we were like them. After the broken leg incident on the last trip we can assure everyone that we have no intentions of driving off a cliff.
Not sure it was jet lag or excitement but we went to Walmart at 5:30am and 3 hours later with 2 trolleys full loaded the van with everything from plates to torches to “poo gloves”.
Adele drove from Jacksonville to St Augustine, a short trip of 45 minutes as we wanted to play with our new vehicle, learn how to do the most important thing like dumping the black water, we should really be referred to as the brown water!
We found a campsite called Faver Dykes ($20 a night), not sure what attracted us to the place but it was small, friendly, in the middle of the forest, quiet and peaceful with helpful neighbours, luckily.
Firstly we could not get the electric to work, it was a good idea to actually switch it on at the circuit breaker. Then found it took us hours to fill up our clean water but still reading empty and then our neighbours pointed out we were putting in the wrong outlet. They could see we might need help and gave us a copy of “Exploring America by RV” and their email if we needed help along the way. Very bless!
It is so quiet and dark during the night in the forest and after our Walmart trip was asleep by 8pm.
This is the first time in a year we have put away our stuff which feels good but weird at the same time.
